Rairdon  listed as from Union, Lawrence County, Ohio in Lawrence County, Ohio 1890 Census Index of Veterans and Widows.  Lawrence County, Ohio lists him on their Civil War Veterans page as belonging to 117th Ohio Infantry.  The 117th Regiment was organized at Portsmouth, Ohio 15 Sept 1862.  Designation of Regiment changed to 1st Ohio Heavy Artillery 2 May 1863.
