MARRIAGE RECORDS

• These I usually type up in six fields separated by a comma as follows:
• First Name, Last Name, First Name, Last Name, Mounty day,year.
• If one is from a different town I include that with the last name without a comma separating it.
• There are two for the date so I can type them as usual. By using this format I can import the text file into MS Access, make a copy of if and append the copy to the original, reversing the names so when I sort on the last name all with one surname will be together.

• Using a database like MA Access of Dbase gives you a lot of control in writting reports, and very easy. Most windows databases allow you to export the reports to a Word Processor where you can copy the text onto a web page. I do not recommend using the save as HTML if using a word prosessor that supports it as most stick a lot of extra not needed code in to the files.
