This indenture, made this 28 day of August, A.D. 1920 between J.W. RECTOR and wife ELIZABETH RECTOR of Cocke County in the State of Tennessee of the first part and R.M. MASE of Cocke County, Tennessee, of the second part. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty eight hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey, unto the said party of the second part the following described premises, to-wit, situated in District No. 2 of Cocke County, Tennessee, and is described in notes and bounds as follows: Beginning on SMITH'S line on the west side of a branch seven and one eighth poles to a rock corner and running thence south seventy two and one half (now seventy five) west one hundred eight and three quarter poles to a rock on the BELL line, thence with the BELL line south thirty two east (corrected to south seven east) twenty three and one half poles to a hickory stump on GEORGE OTTINGER'S line, thence with the same two courses, north seventy one and one half (now seventy three) east fifty seven poles to a rock, thence north seventy seven (now seventy eight and one half) east eighty seven poles to a rock BALEY'S corner, thence with BALEY'S line north thirty four and one half west (corrected to north twenty two west) twenty one and seven and one eighth poles to a stake, thence north two and one half west twenty two poles to a stake, thence north forty four and one half west twelve poles, thence north two and one half west eight and one eighth poles, thence north eighty eight west one and one quarter poles, thence north thirty three west one and one half poles, thence north five west eighteen and one eighth poles to the beginning containing sixty acres be the same more or less. With the hereditaments and appurtenances hereto appertaining, hereby releasing all claims to homestead and dower therein. To have and to hold the said premises to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said parties of the first part for themselves and for their heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee simple of the premises above conveyed and have full power, authority and right to convey the same that said premises are free from all incubrances and that they will forever warrant and defend the said premises and the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Personally appeared before me W.E. BIBLE a Notary Public of said State and County, the within-named bargainors, J.W. RECTOR and wife ELIZABETH RECTOR with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained. And ELIZABETH RECTOR, wife of the said J.W. RECTOR, having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, said IDA RECTOR, acknowledged the execution of said Deed to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband, and for the purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand and official seal at office in this 28 day of August A.D. 1920.
