Dear Sir: The data which follow were obtained from the papers on file in Revolutionary War pension claim, w.45, based upon military service in that war of Lewis Rector. The date and place of birth of Lewis Rector are not shown, nor are the names of either of his parents designated. Lewis Rector enlisted in Surry County, NC, in May, 1782, served as a private in Captain Sharp's Company, under Colonels Armstrong and Archibald Lytle in the NC Troops and was discharged in 1783, having served 18 months. After the war, he lived in Wilkes, Iredell, and Buncombe Counties, NC. He was allowed pension under the act of June 7, 1832, under Certificate No. 29920, issued May 4, 1835. In 1834, it was stated that he was over seventy years of age. He then resided in Buncombe County, NC, where he died January 30, 1844. The soldier married in December 1788, Frances Lunsford. They were married at the home of John Rector, in Wilkes county, NC. Relationship of John Rector to the soldier, Lewis Rector, was not shown. Soldier's widow, Frances, was allowed pension on her application executed March 27, 1844, at which time she was aged seventy-one years and resided in Buncombe County, NC. Children are referred to, three of whom were living as early as 1795, no names of children are given and there are no further family data.

Dear Sir: The data furnished herein were obtained from the papers on file in pension claim, w. 983, based upon the Revolutionary War service of Benjamin Rector. He was the son of John Rector and was born in the year 1761 in Culpeper County, Virginia; the name of his mother is not known. Benjamin Rector enlisted, while residing in Surry County, NC, and served as substitute for his father, as private in Captain Jacob Camplin's company, Colonel McDowell's North Carolina regiment, and was in the battle of Stone; and again served three months in Captain Woolridge's company, Colonel Williams' North Carolina regiment, was in an engagement with the Tories near Charlotte, and guarded prisoners taken at the battle of Kings Mountain. There are no dates of service given. Benjamin Rector was allowed pension on his application executed November 20, 1832, then a resident of Iredell County, NC, where he had lived about forty-seven years. He died February 11, 1849 at his residence in Alexander County, NC. The soldier, Benjamin Rector, married October 9, 1806 in Iredell County, NC, Nancy Fenly or Fenley or Fendley or Finley. The widow, Nancy Rector, was allowed pension on her application executed March 24, 1853, then aged seventy years and living in Alexander County, NC. It is stated that they reared a large family of children, no names of children stated.

RECTOR, Uriah, Winefred, VA Line, W7135, BLW #26761-160-55, Sol enl In VA & about 1805 he moved to Roane Co TN were he appl 8 Sep 1823 aged 67 & Sol d there 5 Oct 1833, Sol had m Winefred (--) in 1805 in Greenville Co SC, wid appl 5 Dec 1854 Williamson Co IL aged 78 where she had lived for 2 yrs with her youngest son William Rector, Sol & wife had a family of sons & daughters but the only child named was William, In 1823 Sol referred to 3 children at home; 2 daughters aged 13 & 9 yrs & a son aged 2 yrs, in 1824 a Maximillian Rector made aff�dt in McMinn Co TN but no relationship was given.

Born in Burke County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Burke County at age 19, May 1, 1862, for the war. Reported present through October, 1862. Wounded at Fredericksburg, Virginia, December 13, 1862. Hospitalized at Richmond, Virginia, where he died on December 23, 1862, of wounds.
