The American Carstarphen's

One of the earliest of the American branches of the Carstarphen family started when Robert Carstarphen came to America in 1746 with his three sons James, Robert & John and they settled in the James River District of Virginia. It was said that Robert Sr. was a surgeon at the battle of Culloden in 1745.

Scottish Tartans:
There is no clan tartan for the name Corstorphine, they however can wear a district tartan which is the Edinburgh District tartan, of which there are several versions. The family of Corstarphin were allies/belonged to the clan Forrester so they are also allowed to wear the Forrester tartan. I have been informed by the Scottish Tartans Society that the Fife District tartan would be also appropriate to wear, which is shown on the border of this page.

The purpose of this page is to collect and share information on all the Carstarphen (and its different spellings) world wide with all those interested.
