Introduction
All of my ancestors came accross the ocean from Germany, most from Hessen; a few others from other parts of Germany. All the ships were sailing Barks, except one, which was a single screw ship with sails. It took about six weeks for the crossing on the Barks. Some ancestors landed in New York and others in Baltimore; all worked their way west to Ohio and Nebraska.
