      Isaac Wilbur married Elizabeth (Unknown Name).¹ Isaac Wilbur was born on 20 December 1814 in Mount Pleasant, Schenectady, New York.¹ He was the son of Jacob Wilbur and Elizabeth Germond.¹ Isaac Wilbur died on 22 March 1882 at the age of 67.¹

Jacob lived in Hyde Park, Dutchess, New York.¹ Jacob Wilbur married Elizabeth Germond, daughter of Isaac Germond.² Jacob Wilbur was born on 5 November 1787.² He was the son of Enoch Wilbur and Phebe Church. Jacob Wilbur died on 25 February 1834 at the age of 46.¹

     James Donohoe Wilbur was born on 16 September 1833.¹ He was the son of Thomas Wilbur and Phebe Wilbur.¹

     Jay Roy Wilbur was born on 18 January 1895 in New Castle, Dixon, Nebraska.^2,3,1 He was the son of Lee Wilbur and Sara Katharine Brewer. Jay was listed as a son in the household of Lee Wilbur on the 16 May 1910 Census in Daily Branch, Dixon, Nebraska. Also included was Margeret, Grace, Kathryn and Dorothy.³
On 5 June 1917, Jay Roy Wilbur was listed on the 1917 - 1918 draft list living in New Castle, Dixon, Nebraska.¹ Jay was listed as a son in the household of Lee Wilbur on the 2 January 1920 Census in Daily, Dixon, Nebraska. Also included was Dorothy and Frances.⁴
Jay Roy Wilbur was listed as the head of the family, on the 1930 census, living in Daily Township, Dixon, Nebraska. Living with him is his mother, Sara Katharine Wilbur.⁵ Jay was buried in 1961 in the Silver Ridge Cemetery, located in Martinsburg, Dixon County, Nebraska .⁶ He died in 1961 in Dixon County, Nebraska.²

     Jefferson Wilbur was born on 4 May 1827 in Sand Lake, Rensselaer, New York.^1,2,3,4 He was the son of Alanson Wilbur and Sally Moore.
     Jefferson Wilbur was probably included as a white male, age under 4, in Alanson Wilbur's household on the 1830 Census enumerated in Sand Lake, Rensselaer, NY.⁵ Jefferson was an Erie Canal boat captain before 1849 in New York.⁶ On 1 January 1849, Jefferson Wilbur married Elizabeth Ann Trim, daughter of Ebenezer Trim and Mary Elizabeth Eisenlord, in Elmira, Chemung, New York.^6,7
     Jefferson Wilbur, Ann Wilbur and Elmira Eisenlord "Myra" Wilbur were listed as a household member living with Alanson Wilbur on the 1850 Census in Lyons, Wayne, New York; Also living in the household with Alanson and Jefferson's family is Lafayette      b. NY     age 15 (so far I have not been able to place who this is.).⁸ According to the census, Jefferson's occupation was a Farmer.⁹
Jefferson Wilbur was mentioned in the will of Alanson Wilbur filed on 21 November 1859 in Belvidere, Boone, Illinois. The will also mentions: Harrison M. Wilbur, Laura Reynolds, Harriet M. Wilbur and Sally Wilbur.¹⁰ Jefferson Wilbur belonged to the Mason in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska.²
     Jefferson and Ann left Bonus, Boone County, Illinois on 9 July 1860 migrating to Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, . Accompaning them were Fred Elmer Wilbur, Clara Wilbur, Elmira Eisenlord "Myra" Wilbur and Ida Wilbur This is the reason that his family is not found on the census of 1860. They came in oxen drawn covered wagon. The land in Ponca was chosen, even tho the acreage cost $7.00 an acre vs $1.25 an acre for Government land, so that the children could attend school. The School in Ponca was the only school that was near.¹¹ Jefferson told, in an article from the Dakota City Eagel, of an incident that happened a short distance from Ponca on the day they arrived in Nebraska. This incident reminded Jeff that not all was a bed of roses. He was on a bank of a stream overlooking the city of Ponca, when he told Fred to fetch him the whiskey jug and they would drink to the city of Ponca. The jug was brought and Jeff was nearly seated, "My God! there coiled a rattle snake, big as a wash tub, and I nearly sat on it." Telling Fred to watch it he got a single tree from the wagon and killed it. The snake had fourteen rattles.¹¹

THE INDIANS.
Previous to the advent of the white settlers there in 1856, Dixon County was the abode of several tribes of Indians, chief among which were the Dakotas, Omahas and Poncas. The Poncas were the most numerous of these three tribes. Their principal village was near the present location of Ponca, the county seat. The principal village of the Omahas was near the "lone tree," a few miles above the mouth of Dailey Creek. These Indians tribes had frequent battles with each other, sometimes resulting in great slaughter. In one of these savage conflicts between the Omahas and Poncas, which occurred about a mile north of Ponca, near the Missouri, the Omahas, who were on a raid, were led into an ambush and defeated with great slaughter, almost every one of the raiding forty being slain.

At the time of the settlement of the county, the Indians had become so reduced in numbers and ferocity, as not to be particularly dangerous. They were generally peaceable, except when their courage and animosity were quickened and strengthened by alcohol. Still it was not considered safe for the white intruder to go unarmed about his work, or to leave his wife and children unarmed at home. Numerous "scares" occurred, the Indians seeming particularly to enjoy this kind of amusement. As late as 1864, eight years after the settlement of the county, a marauding band of Sioux stole some horses belonging to different individuals, among them Father Ryan, of Dakota County. In passing through Dixon County westward they were discovered and pursued by Jeff Wilbur, who now lives a short distance west of Ponca, fired upon by him when at a distance of only about thirty rods, and escaped; which good fortune they owed to the fact of Mr. Wilbur having borrowed a very poor gun. The horses were recovered, all but one, which the Indians killed, the banks of Silver Creek being too steep and muddy for the horses to cross.¹²
On 20 June 1867, Jefferson Wilburowned property Union County, Dakota Territory. The property is described as: the Lots numbered six and seven of Section one and the lot numbered eight of Section twelve, in Township eighty eight of Range forty eight, in the District of Lands subject to sale in Vermillion Dakota Territory, containg one hundred and seventy five acres Excess paid per Receipt No 117. Jefferson bought the Script from Harriet GILCHRIST widow of Joseph. The land was from Warrant No. 104376 for 160 acres awarded for to Joseph L. GILCHRIST for service in Capt. Spears company, Massachusetts Militia War of 1812.¹³

Living near the family was Russell Holmes "Russ" Wilbur. Living next door to his cousin Russel.¹⁴ According to the census, Jefferson's occupation was a Farmer.¹⁵ Residing in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, on the 1880 Census, Jefferson Wilbur was listed as the head of the family and Eliza, his wife. Also living in the household were , his sons, Charles and Lee, his daughters, Clara and Minerva.¹⁶ According to the census, Jefferson's occupation was a Farmer.¹⁶ On the 1885 Census, Jefferson Wilbur was listed as the head of household residing in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska. Also living in the household was his wife, Anna.¹⁷
Jefferson, 73, appeared on the census of 9 June 1900 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska, living alone, his parents are listed as being born in MA.¹⁸ According to the census, Jefferson's occupation was a Farmer.¹⁸ He left a will on 23 August 1904 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska. Fred Elmer Wilbur, Clara Wilbur, Elmira Eisenlord "Myra" Wilbur, Ida Wilbur, Frank Wilbur, Minerva Wilbur, Lee Wilbur and John Albert Wilbur were mentioned in the will.¹⁹
Jefferson's will states the following:

Last will and testament of Jefferson Wilbur

I Jefferson Wilbur of Ponca in the county of Dixon and state of Nebraska being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament and hereby recording and making void all former wills by mea t any time heretofor made and first, I trust that my body be decently interned and that my funeral be conducted by the Free Masons in a Manner corresponding with my estate and station in life. As to such estate as it has pleased God to entrust me with and such portion of the services as I have not already disposed of wither by deed or gift I dispose of as follows:

     First - I direct that my funeral Expense together with any other debts I may be owing at the time of my Death shall be first paid out of my Estate

     Second - After the payment of all claims Against my estate I give and bequeath To my beloved son Fred Wilbur all of My personal property of whatsoever Kind

He wrote a codicil on 19 December 1908 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska. The Codicil states:
This is a codicil to my last will and testament, bearing date December 19, 1908.

First: This codicil is for the purpose of making change in paragraph six seven and nine of my last will of which this codicil is attached and forms a part.

Second: I give and bequeath to my daughter Clara Wilbur the South East quarter of North west quarter Section number Sixteen Township 30 Range Six East Dixon County Neb, in lieu of the premises described in paragraph Seven of my last will.

Third: I give and bequeath to my son Fred Wilbur, the North west quarter of South East quarter Section Number Sixteen Township 30 Range Six East Dixon County Neb.

Fourth: I give and bequeath to my son Lee Wilbur the East Half of South West quarter and the South Half of North West Quarter Section Number fifteen Township 30 Range four East Dixon County Nebraska for and during his natural life time and at his death the remainder in said Real Estate shall vest in his wife Kate Wilbur for and during her natural life time: at her death said real estate shall vest in the surviving heirs of the said Lee Wilbur and Kate Wilbur to become the property of said heirs in Common.

     Jerome Wilbur was born on 28 September 1833 in Veteran, Chemung, New York.¹ He was the son of Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur and Polly "Sally" Campbell.¹
     Jerome Wilbur was probably included as a white male, age five to nine, in Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur's household on the 1840 Census enumerated in Veteran, Chemung, New York; . Also enumerated on this page are the families of Abijah Wilber and Lockhart Wilber. (Are they related?).² Jerome Wilbur died in 1843 in Veteran, Chemung, New York.¹ Jerome was buried in the Newton Cemetery, located in Veteran, Chemung County, New York . He is suppose to buried in the same cemetery as his mother, Polly Wilbur.¹

     John Wilbur was born on 9 July 1802.¹ He was the son of Nathan Wilbur and Abigail Powell.¹ John Wilbur died circa 1825.¹ On 28 December 1825, John Wilbur married Keziah C. Dodge.¹ John Wilbur witnessed the marriage of Griffen Wilbur and Dorcas Stringham on 27 December 1827 in Creek Monthly Meeting, Clinton, Dutchess, New York; Male Witnesses to marriage: Nathan Wilbor, Thomas Stringham, John F.      John Church Wilbur was born on 4 October 1796 in Washington, Dutchess, New York.¹ He was the son of Enoch Wilbur and Phebe Church. On 11 May 1823, John Church Wilbur married Pamuela Germond, daughter of Isaac Germond, in Washington, Dutchess, New York.¹ John Church Wilbur died in 1875.¹

      John Church Wilbur married Caroline M. Elmore.¹ John Church Wilbur was born in 1833.¹ He was the son of Nathan Wilbur and Roxie Studley.¹ John Church Wilbur died on 18 May 1903.¹

     John Randolph Wilbur was born on 14 July 1829 in Veteran, Chemung, New York.¹ He was the son of Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur and Polly "Sally" Campbell.¹

     John Randolph Wilbur, was probably included as a white male, age ten to fourteen years old, in Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur's household on the 1840 Census enumerated in Veteran, Chemung, New York; . (Are they related?).³ On 30 May 1855, John Randolph Wilbur married Sybil Kenyon in Southport, Chemung, New York.^4,1 On the 1860 Census in Southport, Chemung, New York,, John was listed as the head of the family. Sybil Wilbur, Almond John Wilbur and Georgia Wilbur were listed as household members. Also living with them is two servants, Cynthia JENKINS and Mary SHERWOOD.⁵ He died on 5 August 1866 in Southport, Chemung, New York, at the age of 37.¹

     Jonathan Wilbur was born on 26 August 1824.¹ He was the son of Thomas Wilbur and Mariam Filkin.¹ On 5 September 1851, Jonathan Wilbur married Harriet A. Cool.¹ Jonathan Wilbur died on 24 December 1883 in Cortland County, New York, at the age of 59.¹

     Julia Ann Wilbur was born on 28 March 1817.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Wilbur and Phebe Wilbur.¹

     Lafayette Wilbur Lafayette was listed on the 1850 Census but not acknowledged in Alanson's Will. Is he a nephew? He was born in 1835 in New York.¹

     Laura Wilbur was born on 21 July 1817 in Sand Lake, Rensselaer, New York.^{2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} She was the daughter of Alanson Wilbur and Sally Moore.
     Laura Wilbur, was probably included as a white female, age fifteen to nineteen years old, in Alanson Wilbur's household on the 1830 Census enumerated in Sand Lake, Rensselaer, NY.¹⁰ On 9 November 1839, Laura Wilbur married Elias Brockway Reynolds, son of Titus S. Reynolds and Hannah Brockway, in Lyons, Wayne, New York.^1,11,2,3

Laura Wilbur died on 12 July 1877 in Lyons, Wayne, New York, at age 59; This date is based on the calculation from the birth date and cemetery records stating she was 59 years, 11 months and 21 days.^13,9 Laura was buried on Thursday, 12 July 1877 South Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Wayne, New York.³

     Lee Wilbur was born on 29 March 1866 in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska.^1,2,3 He was the son of Jefferson Wilbur and Elizabeth Ann Trim. Lee Wilbur, Fred Elmer Wilbur, Clara Wilbur, Ida Wilbur, Frank Wilbur, Charles Wilbur, Minerva Wilbur and Russell Holmes "Russ" Wilbur were listed as a household member living with Jefferson Wilbur and Elizabeth Wilbur, on the 1870 Census in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska; living next door to his cousin Russel.² Lee were listed as the son of Jefferson Wilbur on the 1880 Census in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska.¹ On 23 April 1891, Lee Wilbur married Sara Katharine Brewer, daughter of George Brewer and Melissa Jane Warren, in Ponca, Dixon, Nebraska.³

     Lee L. Wilbur was born on 26 August 1890 in Dakota City, Dakota, Nebraska.¹ He was the son of Eugene Bonaparte Wilbur and Mary Ellen Savage.¹ Lee was listed as a son in the household of Eugene Bonaparte Wilbur on the 5 June 1900 Census in South Sioux City, Dakota, Nebraska. Also included was Emma.² In 1912, Lee L. Wilbur married Eva Gray in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.¹ Lee L. Wilbur died on 29 March 1933 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, at the age of 42.¹

     Lewis Wilbur was born on 7 October 1805.¹ He was the son of Stephen Wilbur and Thankful C. Howland.¹ Lewis Wilbur died on 21 October 1874 at the age of 69.¹

     Lois Wilbur was born on 27 September 1822.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Wilbur and Mariam Filkin.¹ On 6 June 1848, Lois Wilbur married Anderson Scudder.¹ She died on 12 February 1875 at the age of 52.¹

     Margaret Wilbur was the daughter of William Wilbur and Martha Howland.¹

      Margeret M Wilbur married Albert Dietrich. She was born on 22 August 1896 in Nebraska.^1,2 She was the daughter of Lee Wilbur and Sara Katharine Brewer. On the 16 May 1910 Census, Margeret were listed as a daughter in the household of Lee Wilbur and Sara in Daily Branch, Dixon, Nebraska. Also listed in the household was her brother Boyd, Jay and Giles.² Margeret M Wilbur died on 17 June 1956 in New Tripoli, Lehigh, Pennsylvania, at the age of 59.¹

     Maria Wilbur was born circa 1806.¹ She was the daughter of Nathan Wilbur and Abigail Powell.¹

     Maria Antionette Wilbur was born on 7 September 1824 in Kent, Litchfield, Connecticut.² She was the daughter of Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur and Polly "Sally" Campbell.¹ Maria Antionette Wilbur could also have been born in 1827 in Connecticut. Based on the census.³

     Maria Antionette Wilbur, was probably included as a white female, age ten to fourteen years old, in Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur's household on the 1840 Census enumerated in Veteran, Chemung, New York; . Also enumerated on this page are the families of Abijah Wilber and Lockhart Wilber. (Are they related?).⁵ On 4 September 1847, Maria Antionette Wilbur married Albert Parrott in Veteran, Chemung, New York.^3,2
     Maria Antionette Parrott, Jerome Parrott, Stephen Van Rensselaer Wilbur and Eugene LeBond Wilbur were listed as a household member living with Albert Parrott on the 1850 Census in Veteran, Chemung, New York.³ On the 1860 Census in Veteran, Chemung, New York,, Maria Antionette Parrott, Jerome Parrott, Jared Parrott, Clarence W. Parrott and Antionette Alice Parrott were listed as a household member living with Albert Parrott.⁶
Maria was listed as the head of the family, on the 1870 Census in Veteran, Chemung, New York. Jerome Parrott, Stephen Van Rensselaer Parrott and Jared Parrott were listed as household members.⁷ In 1876, Maria Antionette Wilbur married Francis Asbury Pike in New York.⁸ She appeared on the 11 June 1880 census in Ladora, Iowa, Iowa, in the household of Francis Asbury Pike and Maria Antionette Pike.⁹ She died in 1911.²
