Janet Anderson, (Humphreys Co., TN) is searching for the branches/roots of this tree. My father was Robert Otis HURT, son of Solomon Edward HURT, son of William Riley HURT. They were located in Tennessee (Humphreys County).

Renee H. Bennett (St. Louis, MO) I am a very new Hurt researcher I'll list only more recent generations:
My GG Grandmother was Nancy Hurt [born abt 1810 in Adair County, Va; died April 1884 in Marion, Crittenden County, KY] who was married to James Doss [abt 1825 in Kentucky]
Nancy's parents were Charles Hurt and Sarah [Sally?] Wheeler
Charles' parents were Nathan Hurt and Frances Allen
Nathan's parents were Moses Hurt and Ruth? Rutha? Turner....
I need information on any or all of these folks. [6-22-05]

Helen Hurt Berger, (Louisville, KY) I am Helen Hurt Berger of Louisville, KY. I am a native of Garrard County, Kentucky where there are many Hurt's. My genealogy goes like this:
Father & Mother: Tye Logan Hurt and Lola B. Gay Hurt
Paternal Grandparents: Salem D. Hurt and Mary Houston Pollard Hurt
Paternal GGrandparents: James Hurt and Mary Jane Hiatt Hurt
Paternal GGGrandparents: Smith Hurt and Elizabeth Edwards Hurt
Paternal GGGGrandparents: James Hurt and Elizabeth Edwards Hurt
This is far as I can go. I believe this is our elusive James that most everyone in the country is researching. .

Joyce Borowski (South Bend, Indiana) My father was Clarence Amos Hurt, son of James Allen Hurt, son of John A Hurt, son of James Hurt, son of John Hurt m. Eve Garmon, 1800 in Augusta Cty, VA. John Hurt is said to be the son of Benjamin Hurt of Caroline County and halfbrother to William (Beaver Hat) Hurt.( See Oscar Hurt Book) John was born abt 1769 in VA. Some researchers feel that John was the son of Benjamin but I wonder if this could be correct. My John was in Cumberland Cty Ky by 1810. He had the following sons, Isaac, William, James, Samuel and Andrew Jackson. Samuel was named for a Garmon, Andrew for Andrew Jackson. He would have named one of the sons for his father. Not only did he not use the name, Benjamin but neither did any of his sons. They use William, James and John over and over. Joyce B.
