Land records of Jamestown Precinct, Conecuh county

Land records of the Jamestown Precinct,
Conecuh County, Alabama
by
Charles Lavon Lee

This map seems to cover most of the Jamestown census precinct of Conecuh County. That is the northeastern part, adjoining Covington & Butler counties. Comparing it to the 1900 census of Conecuh on Lisa Franklin's  "Tracking your Roots"; http://frontpage.home.com/trackingyourroots/  the names match well. One can almost follow the census taker from the southern part of the precinct in a counter clockwise route.  Most of these land records are from around 1890 and since we do not have a census for that period, it is hoped that this map will be a helpful tool.

Thanks again to Robert Gibson for help in making the map. I alone am responsible for any error in names or dates.  Send Corrections/Additions to:  Charles L. Lee  [email protected].
