Søren Jakobsen Rovde (1819 - 1902), ancestor of the Rovde and Rhode families. He was born in Rovde, Norway and farmed the farm "Store Rovde" (Big Rovde). He was the father of ten children, including Severin Andreas Elias Sørenson Rovde [Rhode], who emigrated to the United States in 1885.
