THE SUMMERLEAS SKELETON.

PROVED TO BE ANDERSON'S.
The Coroner, Air A Riddoch, belo an
inquest at the Hospital yesterday after
noon on the human skeleton found at
Summerleas last week Air II A Luck

made mi examination of a quantity of
bones biought to the morgue on the 14th

the bones of the skeleton of a male adult

Sub-Inspector Newall gave evidence as
to the nature of the ground where the remains

compared portions of a newspaper found

The Weekly Timen and Echo-addressed
to James Andeison, who wies identical
with the same person who resided at
Summerleas in April, 181)5, and found that
certain poitions of the remnants corre
s|K>nled exactly with the other papers,
which liore English stamps and post date
April 25, 1895 From the state the
remnants of the newspaper found with the
remains were in, it was evident that it had
been folded, and deceased bad lain on it,
or else it would have been' burned by the
fire which recently passed over the
skeleton.
The jury retui ned the following verdict:
-"That the remains found at Summerleas,
near the Hu on-road, on- the 12th
inst., are those of James Anderson, who
was reported missing on April 16, 1805,
and that there is no evidence to show how
the deceased caine by his death."

Lived at Mt Waverley after he married Mary THOMPSON who was a widower.
