The United States' war with Mexico 1846-1847 provided about 1500 Arkansas men who served in this conflict. Will be adding names to this list as I research the different Northern Arkansas families.

Battalion was used to patrol against the wild Indians in the Indian Territory.
He was discharged 28Feb1847 at Fort Wayne, Cherokee Nation.

Bateman failed to appear for muster. The batallion was used to patrol against the wild Indians in the Indian Territory. He was discharged 28Feb1847 at Fort Wayne, Cherokee Nation.

He married Kisiah Wright and they lived Searcy County, Johnson County, Arkansas and in Missouri.
He is buried in Witt Springs,Arkansas

He does not appear on the death list, so he was apparently discharged on 30June1847 at Camargo, Mexico.

Discharged 30June 1847 at Camargo, Mexico.
Andrew died 11Oct1864 at Ozark, Missouri and she applied for pension on 26 April 1887, a resident of Tomahawk, Searcy County, Arkansas.
Mexican Widow's Application #3049, Cert No.3881.

He died in Mexico City of disease on 1 Dec 1847.
He was married to ELVIRA MOODY, 1Feb1845 in Carroll County, Arkansas
They had one child, Melissa Eveline Owens.
Elvira Moody Owens married BORAN DeKALB MOODY in Madison County, Arkansas on 1Feb1848. In October 1853 the Probate Court of Madison County appointed Boran DeCalb Moody guardian of Melissa Owens.

Father Josiah Wynn applied for land grant due to his son's service in
the Mexican War.
Josiah Wynn married a second time to Caroline (mnu) and they named a
second son Harman Wynn after the deceased soldier.
