JOSIAH S WYNN FAMILY GENEALOGY

Josiah S Wynn, second wife Caroline Elizabeth McAnulty and family members

JOSIAH S WYNN FAMILY

Josiah S Wynn passed away on 2 June 1870, so this photo above was
taken some time around 1860.
Josiah was born ca 1798 in Virginia
This photo was sent to me by Tom Smith. In his notes Tom states the
following:
The photo was passed down from William M Wynn (the youngest son of
Josiah S Wynn and his first wife,HARRIETT L TURNER) to their youngest
son, Robert E Lee Wynn, who passed it to his daughter
Rachel Wynn Wells and her family.
We are guessing that William is in the photo and that he is standing
behind Josiah. We are also guessing that the little boy leaning
against Josiah's left leg is William's son John Austin Wynn. All
speculation!!
Josiah and Caroline had 4 sons; Peter, Josiah, George and Harmon, so
it is possible that these are the four young adult males in the
photo, and they simply gave a copy to William M and he isn't in the
picture at all.
Up to now, the only really reasonable guess is that the youngest
adult male, standing at the far right side of the picture is
Harmon Wynn.We based that guess on the similarity of facial structure
with the women on the left of the photo and his apparent age.
Census records indicate that between 1865 and 1870, he would be 17
to 22 years of age.
The babies in Caroline Elizabeth's lap appear to be identical twins
Based on family history, maybe someone will be able to name them.
And, of course, now we are guessing that the adult male standing in
back second from right side of photo is Josiah Jr.
If anyone can help identify the people in this picture, we will
greatly appreciate it

William M. Wynn is the youngest of nine children born by Josiah's
first marriage. He is a farmer by trade and attended school for about
3 months in 1856. He has nine children. He served 4 years and
2 months in the Confederate Army, in Capt. Winfrey's company,
serving in Arkansas and the Indian Territory, and being in active
service nearly all the time. He rode his own horse and bore his own
expenses, never being reimbursed by the Government. After the war he
moved upon his present farm, which contains 160 acres, and is located
