William Leon Acuff(Jan 25 1842-Feb 3, 1898)was born in Tennessee and was the son of Jonathan Acuff and Eleanor Curvin. It was passed down by word of mouth that William met the lady who was to be his wife when he came to hold a meeting at the Old Antioch Christian Church in 1869. William L Acuff married Sarah McElroy(Nov 28 1847-June 2 1925) on January 5 1871 in Van Buren Co. TN. Sarah was the daughter of Andrew Jackson McElroy(April 24, 1820 and Jane Webb(1825-Dec 10 1867). They had 3 sons and one daughter.
Eldest son James K Polk Acuff (Jan 12 1872-Nov 23 1939) married Emma Frances "Fannie" Hale(Nov 5 1875-Sept 5 1939)in Van Buren Co TN on Feb 27, 1898. Please see Acuff/Hale bio.
Andrew Jackson Acuff(Dec 3 1873-July 17 1942)married Hannah Hash (March 11, 1877- June 27 1966). She was the daughter of William Henderson Hash and Josephine Potter. Children of Andrew & Hannah were:

Martha J. Acuff(Dec 10 1877-Aug 7 1950)married Murphy Slatton (Sept 20 1877- April 21 1969). He was the son of Wiley B. Slatton and Thula Boyd.

William Howard Acuff( April 11 1880-April 11 1914) married Minnie Loyd Hash (April 21 1887- Feb 7 1978) on Jan 1 of 1904. Minnie was the daughter of William Henderson Hash and Josephine Potter and the sister of Hannah who married Wm Howard's brother Andrew J. Acuff. Wm and Minnie had two children.
Margie Josephine Acuff (born around 1914) married Fred Hale.
Charles Lee Acuff died in Huntsville Alabama.
After Wm. Howard Acuff's death Minnie married John Henry Witt(July 5 1874-Aug 23 1966) he was the son of Jess Witt and Sallie Johnson.
William Leon & Sarah McElroy Acuff are buried in the McElroy Cemetery in Van Buren Co. TN along with their children Andrew, Martha & Wm. Their son James Polk Acuff & his wife are buried at Charity Lane Cemetery in Hazel Green AL.
Thomas Adcock(April 9, 1817- Aug 30, 1905)believed by me to be the son of Henry and Martha Adcock(there are several other researchers who believe he is the son of Lott Adcock though I haven't seen any sources that prove that) He married Frances Bowles in Dekalb Co. AL on May 5 1838. Frances was the daughter of John Bowles and Frances Bolling who were from Virginia(I have view Thomas' Confederate Pension Application as well as the Widow's Pension application which Frances filed.)

Marshall E. Adcock(Dec 21 1839-Dec 31 1924)married Sarah McAfee on Oct 10 1865 in Dekalb Co. TN. He enlisted in the 16th TN Infantry Co. A> on May 18, 1861. Their children were Mary M., Lurleana A., David Layton, Thomas W., and Marshall. Marshall & Sarah are buried in Jefferson Cemetery in Dekalb Co. TN(I have viewed his Confederate Pension Application)
Mary D. F. Adcock(March 20 1842-Dec 30 1903) married David Pittman(See Pittman-Adcock bio)
Calvin Rufus Adcock(1847-1907) married Mary Pinegar on Oct 25 1868. They had at least 4 children probably more....Levi T., Sarah C., David and William. Calvin and Mary are both buried in Young Bend Cemetery.
Naomi Catherine Adcock (Aug 22 1850- ?) married David Pinegar They had at least 3 children probably more...William, Levi and Mary F.
Anthony E. Adcock( Dec 15 1853- Feb 26 1929) married Mary C. ____ in 1876. They children Purley B., Wesley H., John B., Benton M., Mary Frances and Exie A.

James K. Polk Acuff(Jan 12 1872- Nov 23 1939)was the son of Wm Leon Acuff and Sarah McElroy. He married Emma Frances Fannie Hale(Nov 5 1875- Sept 5 1934) in Van Buren Co TN on Feb 27, 1898. Fannie was the daughter of William P. Hale & Nancy Arminda Hitchcock(born Sept 6 1840). Wm. P. Hale was the oldest son of William Taylor Hale and Eliza Adeline Elzie.

Mary Adcock was the daughter of Thomas Adcock & Frances Bowles. David and Mary had 9 children--4 daughters and 4 sons. Both David and Mary are buried in Young Bend Cemetery in Dekalb Co. TN

Daniel Pittman(b. 1800/03- 1860/70) married Comfort ________who was born in 1808/10 in KY. They had 6 children---3 sons & 3 daughters.
Daniel & Comfort were in AL sometime between the yrs 1838 and 1841 as the two oldest children David & Sarah Jane listed their state of birth as Alabama in census records.
David Pittman (1838- ?) married on Dec 22 1859 to Mary D. T. Adcock, daughter of Thomas Adcock & Frances Bowles. See Pittman/Adcock bio.
