Bob Nelson's List of Reference Works
Bob Nelson's List of Reference Works
As with any researcher, the genealogist stands on
the shoulders of those who have gone before. The data in my database
owes a hege debt to those who, often without the benefit of modern technology
communications, compiled, organized, and published information concerning these
families.
The following is a list of sources my collaborators and I have found useful. Not all of them have been
fully incorporated into my data base, but when I have brought them in,
I have attempted to include all birth/death/marriage/burial
dates and locations. To each such piece of data, a source record is attached,
indicating on which page number the datum was found. This allows researchers
to request individual pages of interest through inter-library loan. Where sources
conflict, I have either included both pieces of information, or added a note indicating
which one was not included and mentioning why.
The list of sources below shows those works I have used and those I plan on incorporating
later. Those with an asterisk (*) in front of the title have been added. Those with a "+"
are in the process of being added. If you have a recommendation for additions to this list, please contact me.
Note: You might try
Higginson Books
for some of these volumes. I have no connection with this company, I've just ordered
from them in the past.
