Andersen, Anderson, Thayer and Jones Family History

My name is Robert D."Bob" Anderson. I've been working on my family history for over 20 years now and finally have a place to share it with family members. Many thanks to Rootsweb for the webspace to publish this information.

There are four separate "family lines" here, although they of course cross paths as they are MY family lines. I thought I'd do it this way to get started, although the format may change as I get more familiar with what I'm doing. I've designed websites before, but this is a bit of a challenge trying to present this in a logical and readable fashion. As time goes on I may add a few more bells and whistles.

I struggled a bit in deciding whether to show birth years of living persons. As this is a new site that no one will find until I let people know about it and when it gets listed with the various search engines, I decided to go ahead and show the information I have collected. If you find anything pertaining to you that you wish to be omitted from these reports, please let me know. I would also like to have your e-mail and mailing addresses and phone number(s) for my files. I won't publish this information unless you give me permission to do so.

Obviously this work is not complete...and probably never will be. It's an ongoing project and I need your help. If you have information on anyone in these files (or on someone who should be in these files) please go to the Person Questionnaire Sheet section. For now you'll have to find the person and print out his or her questionnaire. Fill out what you know and either send it to me by mail or email me with the information. Some day I hope to make it a form you just fill out and hit "submit." But until then we'll have to do it this way. For all info looking for dates, please also include the place, e.g., (birth: 15 Jul 1899, Atlantic, Cass Co., Iowa.)

Getting Started

Probably the best way to start is to click on the name of the family from which you descend. If you're a Jones, click on Jones, etc. Then go to the index of names and find yours. It should be intuitive from there. Have fun!
