Bruce Oil Well

An article from the Daily Nevada State Journal 24 Nov 1901:

This morning Alfred Bruce left town with two big wagon loads of lumber, supplies, etc., for the new oil well. Mr. Phillips, Mr. Armstrong and Mr. Swenson left shortly after in a light rig. They will begin work on the derrick and buildings as soon as the material gets on the ground. The Minnesota men mean business. --Elko Independent

Supposedly, this is the first oil well in Nevada.
