Carter/Laxton Cemetery is in good shape. Someone keeps it
mowed and clean of debris. Several stones are in piles around
trees, however and others are so weathered they are unreadable.
The cemetery is located just North of Hawthorn Rd. on County Lane 214 in a
new Subdivision. Mineral
Township Map shows the cemetery's location.
Kathy
Sidenstricker has also stated that she has heard this cemetery called the "Baby
Cemetery".
Most photos (unless stated) taken of this cemetery are the property of
Kathy
Sidenstricker and are available for personal use only.
Kathy took some wonderful views of the cemetery.
Looking into the cemetery from the road.
Pile of stones next to a tree.
Inside the cemetery looking toward the road.
While Kathy was at Carter-Laxton she had some cute help
See her Cat Helper.
See her Dog Helper.
I went out 25 Nov. 2000 and began working in
the Southeast corner of the cemetery. The first set of stones
are in rows. But halfway through the cemetery they are scattered
haphazardly. So I then worked on the South side working my way
west. Then came up from the back of the cemetery on the North
half working my way east.
