Milton was born in Illinois. He married Rachel Frazier 1 Jan 1854 in Warren County, Iowa. Milton and Rachel had no children, they raised Rachel Johnson, daughter of Milton's brother and sister-in-law, James Johnson and Rachel Henshaw, as their own. Milton and Rachel moved to Jasper County in 1866. He was a farmer.
