Death of Mrs J.D. Landers Funeral services for Mrs. John D. Landers, who died Saturday night were held yesterday afternoon at the home on east thirteenth street and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Lakey, of Ft. Scott Kans, a Holiness minister. Burial was in the Walker cemetery, four miles south of Carthage. Mrs. Landers came to this section when only four years old and had lived in the district the greater portion of her life. She was 51 years old. The pallbearers were Mayor W. H. Black, M.E. Bradley, J.R. HIll, S.T. Hill, Nelson Knight and Milton Johnson. Diabetes caused her death. For three years she suffered from that disease, but she was bedfast only two days before dying. A husband and five children are the survivors. the children are Mrs. N.W. Smith of Carthage, Mrs. W.D. Waddle of Oronogo, Lee Landers of Joplin and Joe and Genevieve Landers, living at home.
