EARLES DOUBLE FUNERAL TOMORROW AT CHURCH
The double funeral of Mrs. J. W. Earles and her son Frank will be conducted from the First Methodist church, by Rev. C. M. Kennaugh, at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow. Burial is to be made in the family plot at Mt. Hope cemetery, where lie the remains of two other sons, Fred, who died at the age of 21, twenty years ago, and Will, who died last October.
Mrs. Earles died at 12:15 o’clock this morning, forty-six hours after the death of the son Frank, and the burial of the latter had been deferred through anticipation of the mother’s early demise.
Mrs. Earles three & one-half years ago, in a neighbor’s home, fell over a rug and suffered a broken leg from which she had since been bedfast. The son, Frank, was a victim of tuberculosis. Surviving is the husband- father, Capt. J. W. Earles, his son George Earles, and the latter’s son George Raymond Earles of Royal Heights.
Mrs. Earles was Mary Josephine Hatfield, born May 5, 1848, at Cleveland, Ind. She was thus nearly 77 years old at death. Capt. & Mrs. Earles were married fifty-four years ago this coming Valentine day, on Feb. 14, 1871. On each succeeding wedding anniversary Capt. Earles had taken joy & sentimental pride in presenting Mrs. Earles, for 53 years, with the finest valentine to be had that year. This year his offering will be a wreath.
