Daughter of Sherman and Dellcy [Earle] Stancliffe born Chasm Falls, Franklin County, NY June 13, 1861, died there Nov. 10, 1958, married there Feb. 26, 1889(1) WILLIAM WALLACE CUNNINGHAM "Wallace"(2) son of Russell J. and Lura E. [Earle] Cunningham born Chasm Falls, Franklin County, NY May 2, 1864, died there Feb. 16, 1954 after being run over by a truck in his own yard, buried there at the Methodist Episcopal Cemetery with Emma. Wallace was a farmer, but as a young man he had been apprenticed to a Blacksmith to learn that trade.
The relationships in this marriage are truly complex. Lura E. [Earle] Cunningham was born Jan. 23, 1841, a daughter of Willard and Orpha [Keeler] Earle. Willard's first wife had been Emma's aunt, Olive Stancliffe. Orpha Keeler married first Willard Earle as a second wife and then she married Willard's brother, William Earle, both men were first cousins of Emma's mother. A quote from the scrapbook of Emma L. Cunningham says "Russell and Wallace Cunningham's mother was a sister of Hiram Winslow. A Capt Winslow was also a brother of Hiram Winslow" Hiram Winslow married Emma's aunt, Maria Stancliffe, sister of Sherman Stancliffe. The Russell and Wallace Cunningham mentioned were the father and uncle of Emma's husband Wallace. Emma's sister Dellcy was married to their second cousin, William son of William and Orpha [Keeler] Earle. Emma's mother in law was her second cousin and Emma's brother in law and also second cousin was her mother in law's half brother. Emma's father in law was her aunt Maria's nephew. Emma's own husband was her second cousin once removed.

1. CALLIE CUNNINGHAM born Dec. 21, 1890, died 1981, buried with parents at the Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, Chasm Falls, Franklin County, NY.
2. BEULAH CUNNINGHAM born Dec. 12, 1898, died 1935. She appeared in the 1900 Census as Bernice B. Cunningham. This discrepancy cannot be blamed on a careless census enumerator as it was her grandfather, Russell J. Cunningham, who took the census. Her name was probably Bernice Beulah Cunningham.
