CROW FAMILY

Daughter of Timothy and Lucy [Hough] Stanclift born Canada Sept. 15, 1815, died Erie County, PA Mar. 1, 1871, married HIRAM CROW born Jan. 24, 1802, died Erie County, PA July 20, 1869, both buried Sharp's Corner Cemetery(1). Census records conflict on birthplace of Hiram, born NY or Canada. Hiram served as executor on the will of Clark Nichols.
They lived within the community of Stanclift families in McKean. In the 1850 Census they were next door to the widow of Thomas Stanclift, Polly Ann and her family. Laura and Hiram had five little girls and a one year old son at that date(2). In 1860 there were two more little girls in the family. Their daughter, Sophronia, was over in Collins, New York with relatives. Both Laura and Hiram specified their birthplace as Upper Canada(3). Laura remained on the farm after Hiram died and in 1870 she was living with three grown daughters, Zilpha, Mary and Eliza(4).

4. JOANNA CROW born Erie County, PA 1844.
5. SOPHRONIA CROW born Erie County, PA 1846. At age 13, she was visiting or living with her cousin Edwin Jesse Stancliff's family in North Collins, Erie County, NY in 1860
6. GEORGE W. CROW born Erie County, PA 1848.
7. ELIZA CROW born Erie County, PA 1951.
8. MINERVA CROW born Erie County, PA 1854.
9. WILLIAM W. CROW born Erie County, PA Mar. 14, 1856, died Erie County, PA June 12, 1858, buried Sharp's Corner Cemetery.
