Daughter of Russell and Lorinda M. [Eddy] Stancliffe born Oct. 12, 1823, died Owls Head, Franklin County, NY July 20, 1901, married Mar. 12, 1844 RUFUS L. EARLE JR son of Rufus and Delcina [Hazelton] Earle "Dellcy"(2) born Bakersfield, Franklin County, VT Apr. 24, 1822, died Chasm Falls, Franklin County, NY Nov. 4, 1901.

Rufus L. Earle was the brother of Charlotte's aunt, Dellcy [Earle] Stancliff, wife of Sherman Stancliffe. Rufus L. Earle served during the Civil War in the 106th Regiment of New York Volunteers, Company H and was a "tentmate" of Almanzo B. Stancliffe, son of Sherman below. His family lived near Malone, Franklin County, NY, in Ringville and Owls Head, until 1873, when they purchased a farm in Bellmont, Franklin County, NY.

In 1900 Rufus and Charlotte [Stancliffe] Earle were living in Bellmont, Franklin County, NY. They lived in the household of their daughter, Jane M. [Earle] Wescott, who was that date the widow of Rufus Wescott. They lived next door to Daniel Wescott and two doors away from the Lewis Safford family and the Giles H. Stancliffe family(3).

1. LOREN E. EARLE born Malone, Franklin County, NY Apr. 27, 1845, died May 22, 1923(5), married Malone, Franklin County, NY Apr. 10, 1867 ELECTA MILLER daughter of Rev. Allen J. and Maria R. [Scarboro] Miller born Champion, Jefferson County, NY May 23, 1837, died Jan. 9, 1887. He was a farmer and lived Bellmont, Franklin County, NY.

2. JANE M. EARLE born Jan. 11, 1848, married Jun. 4, 1867 RUFUS A. WESCOTT son of Ira and Clarissa [Afford] Wescott of Malone, Franklin County, NY. He died 1885. They lived Bellmont, Franklin County, NY.

3. AMELIA S. EARLE born Nov. 1, 1850, died Feb. 21, 1853.

4. SILAS R. EARLE born May 4, 1855, died Jun. 17, 1862.

5. RALPH FRED EARLE born Aug. 2, 1857, died Mar. 16, 1944, married Mar. 31, 1885 MRS. JANE [ALLEN] ALVORD "Jennie" They lived Owls Head, Franklin County, NY.

6. NELLIE S. EARLE born Sept. 20, 1859, died Oct. 28, 1885. She was listed as Helen in the 1860 Census. Dr. Harwood told of her sacrifice when she went willingly to a neighbor's house to care for a woman suffering from diphtheria. Knowing well the risk she still insisted on going there, and within a few days both had died.(6)
