Son of Elijah and Harriet [Allen] Gibbs born Clay, Onondaga County, NY Nov. 14, 1824, died Richmond Township, Ashtabula County, OH Feb. 2, 1915, buried Padanarum Cemetery, married about 1845 MARY A. WATERS daughter of Lester and Laura [Hillyar] Waters born Gustavus, Trumbull County, OH Jan. 9, 1820, died Ashtabula County, OH Jun. 29, 1892. George served with a Trumbull County, OH Company during the War of 1812. They purchased a farm in Richmond Township, Ashtabula County, OH in 1854.

1. WILLIAM GIBBS born about 1846, lived in Andover, Ashtabula County, OH.
2. BELONA GIBBS born about 1851, married 1. 1868 PHILETUS HEATH, married 2. Jan. 23, 1893 ISIAH DUSTMAN.
3. LAURA ANN GIBBS born Williamsfield Township, Ashtabula County, OH Jun. 6, 1852, died Jan. 11, 1916, married 1870 JAMES BRADLEY BRITTON.
4. AUVERN GIBBS born probably Williamsfield Township, Ashtabula County, OH July 1854, married SUSAN ____ and lived Conneaut Township, Ashtabula County, OH.
5. WALTON H. GIBBS born Richmond Township, Ashtabula County, OH Mar. 24, 1856, died there Jan. 13, 1899, married Mar. 18, 1881 MILDRED E. CALDWELL who died Jun. 23, 1940.
6. GEORGE J. GIBBS born Richmond Township, Ashtabula County, OH Jun. 15, 1863, died there Aug. 31, 1924, married Mar. 8, 1887 DELLA STANCLIFT daughter of John and Esther [Seager] Stanclift born Mar. 4, 1866.
