Daughter of Willard and Mary [Wood] Stanclift born Collins, Erie County, NY and listed as an heir of Willard. Probably identical to the Cynthia Stanclift born NY 1823, who married in Cass County, MI Sept. 1, 1844 ELAM HARTER(1) born OH 1823, probably the son of Joseph and Mary [____] Harter.
In 1850 they lived Howard Township, Cass County, MI(2). Several families from North Collins related to Cynthia moved to this area of Michigan. Her cousins, Joseph Stanclift and Harriet [Stanclift] Brayman, and their families were living Niles, Berrien County MI located almost on the Cass County line. Amasa Smith, the father of Rhoba Smith who married John Stanclift Jr also moved from Erie County, NY to Howard Township, Cass County, MI
