ARTHUR J. MARSH FAMILY
(632) ANETTE or ADA J.7 STANCLIFF "Nettie" (Ellsworth6, Thomas5, John4, Comfort3, James2, James1)
Daughter of Ellsworth and Emeline P. [Sherwood] Stancliff born Dec. 1856, died 1932, married 1. Sept. 16, 1874, ARTHUR J. MARSH son of John and Mary A. [Brimhall] Marsh of McKean, Erie County, PA, born Oct. 13, 1850, died Jul. 19, 1881, killed by a fall from the loft in his barn(1).
The widow, Nettie [Stanclift] Marsh was living Titusville, Crawford County, PA in 1883 when she was mentioned as heir in her mother's Probate papers(2). A Mrs. Nettie Marsh married Waterford Township, Erie County, PA Apr. 8, 1886 by Rev. L. M. Frie ALEXANDER McFAYDEN(3). Alexander McFayden, son of Alexander McFayden was a neighbor of the Stanclift families living at Sharp's Corners. He lived on land adjoining that of Nettie's parents, and census records indicate he was born in 1859. If she married Andrew McFayden, she did not remain married nor did she retain his name. Nettie Marsh, widow, was again found in Titusville, Crawford County, PA in 1900. She was living with her daughter, Linnie, at 99 North Main Street and both listed their occupations as book keepers. This census shows she was a widow at that date. She had one child who was living in 1900(4). Her gravestone also says "Nettie Marsh 1855-1932".

3. .Erie County, PA Marriage Records, Marriage License #217, his age given as 30 and Nettie gave her age as 27. She was specifically termed MRS. Nettie Marsh in the marriage record. The ERIE MORNING DISPATCH issue of Apr. 10, 1886 says she is MISS Nettie Marsh. Andrew McFayden's family lived on land that adjoined the land of Nettie's parents.
4. .PA 1900 CENSUS, Crawford County, Town of Titusville, Dwelling 70, Family 75, E.D. 45. While this census says she was born Dec. 1865, it gives the correct age of 44 years old.
