Daughter of Timothy and Lucy [Hough] Stanclift born Feb. 12, 1825 probably in North Collins, Erie County, NY, died Geneva Township, Ashtabula County, OH June 26, 1919, buried Hickock Cemetery, Jefferson, OH, married McKean, Erie County, PA July 17, 1847 JOHN MAY JR by Elder E. C. Rogers(1). John May was son of John and Anna [Harris] May born Canaan, Grafton County, NH July 23, 1810, died Mar. 2, 1896 Jefferson Township, Ashtabula County, OH, buried Hickock Cemetery, Jefferson, OH. Jane was the third wife of John May Jr., he married 1. Charlotte Hunt who died 1840, buried Colden Cemetery, McKean, PA and married 2. Jan. 19, 1841 Harriet N. Crouch who was born Aug. 1821 and died 1847, buried Colden Cemetery, McKean, PA, by whom he had a daughter Charlotte born 1843.
John and Jane [Stanclift] May were living 1850 in McKean, Erie County, PA not far from Martin and Olive Stanclift. They had in their household Harriet, George, John's daughter Charlotte, and his father John May Sr(2). They still lived McKean in 1860, Charlotte was no longer with them, but John's father still made his home with this family(3). The family moved in August 1866 to Ashtabula County, OH, where they owned and worked a farm on Doyle Road, Jefferson, OH. In 1870 they had were on the farm in Jefferson, OH, and John's father, now age 91, was still with them, Harriet had married Vincent Reynolds and had two small children, they resided in the household too(4).

HARRIET MAY born McKean, Erie County, PA Mar. 19, 1848, died Elyria, Lorain County, OH, on Mar. 22, 1883, buried Garfield Cemetery, Sheffield, OH, married July 14, 1866 McKean, Erie County, PA, VINCENT REYNOLDS son of Rev. Daniel B. and Zilpha Ann [Peters] Reynolds born Warrensville, Cuyahoga County, OH Feb. 3, 1843, died Indianapolis, IN Mar. 30, 1910. They had six children.
2. GEORGE W. MAY born McKean, Erie County, PA Apr. 30, 1850, died Jefferson Township, Ashtabula County, OH Dec. 3, 1941, buried Hickock Cemetery, Jefferson, OH, married July 3, 1881 ROETTA JANE PROPER daughter of Andrew and Martha Lane [McDannell] Proper born Diamond, Vernango County, PA Jul. 22, 1864, died Geneva, Ashtabula County, OH Mar. 9, 1932, buried Hickok Cemetery, Jefferson, OH. Two of their children married children of Charles L. and Mertie [Stanclift] Giddings.
3. EMMA MAY born McKean, Erie County, PA July 23, 1856, died Jefferson Township, Ashtabula County, OH Dec. 5, 1941, buried Hickok Cemetery Jefferson, OH, married June 3, 1880 CHARLES A. HAWKS son of A. C. and Charlotte [Mead] Hawks born Jefferson, Ashtabula County, OH Jun. 9, 1850, died there Jul. 29, 1927 and buried Hickok Cemetery.
4. FOSTER MAY born McKean, Erie County, PA Mar. 4, 1861, married Aug. 30, 1886 LINDA E. PROPER born Feb. 12, 1865, died Erie, Erie County, PA Dec. 14, 1930.
