Daughter of George and Margaret [Squire] Stancliffe born Arlington, Bennington County, VT Mar. 5, 1815(1), married JOSHUA L.(2) ODELL son of Joseph I. or R. and Mary [Leister] Odell born Odelltown, Quebec, Canada Oct. 15, 1811, probably died Odelltown or Lacolle, Province of Quebec, Canada.
William Berry and his wife Dellcy [Stancliffe] Berry found the Odeltown Cemetery south of Lacolle and only about 2� miles across the New York and Canadian border. They found the grave of Joseph R. Odell who died Mar. 21, 1856 � 72 and was the father of Joshua, next to him lies a Joshua and many others named Odell.
CHILDREN: Joshua and Annis [Stancliffe] Odell(3)
1. GEORGE ODELL born Dec. 11, 1840. He and his wife vacationed in the Adirondacks with some of his Stancliffe relatives including his cousin, George Sherman Stancliffe. The State Dam House, Mountain View, Franklin County, NY, was a hotel building built by the Stancliffs(4). The hotel was located about ten miles south east of the Town of Malone. The guest book from the early years of the hotel was accessible to the family(5), and when they all signed the guest book at the State Dam House in 1877, George Odell listed his residence as Lacolle, Quebec, Canada.
2. MARIA ODELL born Odelltown, Quebec, Canada Apr. 2, 1842, died there Apr. 17, 1863(6)
3. MARY ODELL born Odelltown, Quebec, Canada Dec. 27, 1844, died there Oct. 7, 1927
4. EURETTA ODELL born Nov. 6, 1848, died Odeltown, Province of Quebec about Feb. 26, 1934 "Obituary of Miss Euretta Odell- Passes away at age 84 at the Farrar Home was born in Odeltown P.Q. in 1850 daughter of Joseph and Annis Stancliff Odell. Her mother was from Burlington, VT...."(7).
5. MARGARET ODELL born Jun. 29, 1852, died Dec. 5, 1860.
