WILLIAM SCOTT FAMILY
Daughter of James and Mary [Lewis] Stanclift born East Middletown, Hartford County, CT Sept. 18, 1751(1), baptized East Middletown, CT Mar. 29, 1752(2), died East Smithfield, Bradford County, PA(3) 1839, married South Britain, Southbury, CT Aug. 21, 1773 WILLIAM SCOTT(4) born Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, NY Sept 1748(5), baptized there Sept. 26, 1748, died East Smithfield, Bradford County, PA April 8, 1834.
William Scott saw extensive service in the Revolution and afterwards lived Hoosick, Bennington, VT and about 1818 settled in East Smithfield, Bradford County, PA.
William Scott enlisted in the Army in July 1777 at Albany, Albany County, NY served at Fort Ticonderoga, and was at Valley Forge and numerous other engagements during the Revolution. He served as a Private and as an officer in more than one enlistment and in several Regiments in the New York Line. William Scott received a pension for that service. As his widow, Mary applied for and received a widow's pension beginning Nov. 30, 1836(6). Her sister, Olive [Stanclift] Barber swore out a deposition in 1836 attesting to their relationship and Mary's marriage. After the death of William Scott, Mary lived with her son John and his family.

2. WILLIAM SCOTT born "inside Fort Ticonderoga" Sept. 1, 1776(7), died 1860, married MARTHA KEYES, had daughter Lovina Scott who was born 1804, and died 1878. She married Isaiah E. Reed and settled about 1834 in Broome County, NY
3. JOHN SCOTT born 1782, married at Milford, Otsego County, NY 1805 SALLY BEALS. This man was one of the two heirs of Mary's sister Olive [Stanclift] Barber, and at the time of Olive's death in 1857, he was said to be "of Ledyard, Cayuga County, NY"(8).
4. THOMAS SCOTT
5. SALLY SCOTT married ELI BOSE.
6. CELINA SCOTT married JESSE PEASE.
