Ruedgers Honored on 50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. & Mrs. R. L. Ruedger celebrated their fiftieth year of marriage at the farm home, four and one half miles north of Carson City Sunday, November 20, 1938, with their ten children, other relatives and friends.

At noon the family enjoyed a bounteous dinner, with three grandsons and three granddaughters serving the table. A large four-tier wedding cake and a smaller two-tier cake were served later in the afternoon with fruit salad. The rooms were decorated with yellow and white chrysanthemums and with the numerous gifts the host and hostess received. It will be a day long remembered.

Mr. & Mrs. Ruedger were married at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Eliab Foster, in Roberts, IL on November 20, 1888. The couple started housekeeping on a farm near Roberts where they lived ten years. During the next five years the family moved twice, living in Cissna Park, IL, four years and in Kokomo, IN, one year. It was then decided they would move to Michigan and for the past 35 years have lived on the same farm north of Carson City.

Mr. Ruedger has always been active in farm work, and has attained an enviable reputation as a good farmer. He also served as a supervisor for Crystal Township eleven years, while Mrs. Ruedger will always be remembered as a devoted mother and housewife.

Blome and daughter Louise of Kenney, IL, Miss Leda Foster of Roberts, IL, sister of Mrs. Ruedger; Mr. & Mrs. John Ruedger and family; Mr. & Mrs. Bilias Ruedger, MR. & Mrs. Roy Lance and family, Mr. & Mrs. Clark Ruedger, Mr. & Mrs. Mark Ruedger and family, Wallace Ruedger, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Duerr and family, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Ruedger and son, Mr. & Mrs. Martin Ruedger, Mrs. Cm M. Dike, Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Burk, son and daughter, Robert Ward, and Erma Ruedger of Belding, Bradford Sigsby of Crystal, Miss Ira Lance of Owosso, and Frederick Blome who has been helping his grandfather with farm work this past summer.
