ROLE: CHILD

SENTENCE CONSTRUCT:

[:CR:] [:TAB:] [W] emigrated <to [L1]> <[D]> <aboard the [DETAIL]> <having departed from [L]>.  <[M]>.

Sentence example:

Anne Jonsdatter Rue emigrated to the United States on 15 Aug 1837

aboard the Brig Noord having departed from Gothenburg , Sweden . The ship

arrived at the Port of New York on 15 Aug 1837 .

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In the above examples the departure date is placed in the “D” field.  Other information such as arrival date and/or ship transfers are placed in the “M” field.  In the above example The ship arrived at the Port of New York on 15 Aug 1837 was in the memo field.  Another example of a memo field entry would be The S/S Angelo disembarked passengers at Hull , England .  Kristian then embarked on another ship out of Hull for the United States .  He eventually setteled in Minneapolis , Minnesota .

The reason that I use “L1” and “DETAIL” rather than placing the information in the Memo field as M1, M2, etc., is that you can find the entry quickly under the ship name or under the destination by a quick sort of the Master Place List.
