| For individuals who had served at least 9 months and who were veterans of the continental establishment, or in the Navy. | Pension1818 [:CR:][:TAB:]The earliest pension act was approved by Congress on March 18, 1818 and applied to veterans of the continental establishment and the naval service who had served a minimum of 9 months.
