Byslaw Parish History, Transfiguration Church Photos Poland

Byslaw Parish History

The earliest mention of Byslaw parish dates back to 1385.  Byslaw parish was the first parish in this area.  As the area grew in population, Lubiewo and Cekcyn parishes were established out of the original Byslaw parish.  The first mention of a wooden church is found in 1583.  The present church was erected from 1886 to 1888.  The photos of Transfiguration Church were sent to me by a researcher who visited the church recently in 2007.  Thank you Viola for your photos.

These six photos give a full 360 degree view of the entire outside of Transfiguration Church currently in Byslaw, Poland.

To learn more about the history of the town of Byslaw and its parish, I have provided a link to its official site.  This site is in Polish.  There is an outside side view of the church above.  If you go to this site, you may need to utilize a website translation program.
