I am the oldest of three daughters born to Colonel Rodney Rue
Hildebrand and Joan Marvine Johnson. I was born at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield,
Solano County, California a half a century ago. My father was born in Peebles, Adams
County, Ohio about three quarters of a century ago, the son of Alfred and Ocie Pearl
Roderick Hilderbran (Hildebrand). That is why I have roots that tie me to Adams County.
I
have been an ameteur genealogist since 1969 and plan to continue researching until
my last breath. I am proud of my ancestors that settled in the Adams County, Ohio
area and feel a stong tie to it’s history. Someday I hope to visit for an extended
time and experience it’s friendly people and beauty.
I have lived in every
corner of the United States including New York, Florida, Lousisana, New Mexico, Michigan,
Idaho, Washington and California. I have also lived in Japan and Taiwan. I graduated
from High School in upper state New York and continued on to college in Idaho and
California.
I am the mother of five children and the grandmother of three
grandsons and one granddaughter. Another granddaughter is due around June of 2002.
I find it comforting that many people think that I look young enough to be the mother
of my grandchildren. I hope that this will stay true for a little longer. I also
enjoy, along with geneology, my pets and photography. I enjoy the companionship of
my three dogs, two guinea pigs and a ferret.
Rudolph (Rudy) 
is my Miniture Long Hair Dachshund, Dewey is my Bouvier des Flanders and Tinkerbell
is my Basset Hound.
After traveling around the country with my father during
his Air Force career and retirement I married a wonderful Navy man and continued
to support my husband in his military career until his retirement in 1991. At that
time we moved to Idyllwild, California and in 1995 moved to Arlington, Washington
to be close to my husbands mother.
I will strive to fill these pages with
information that will help you find your ancestors. If at any time you discover that
I have placed incorrect information on any of these pages or that any links do not
work please let my know. I would also be greatful for any copies of pictures or documents
that will provide primary documentation. I will be able to scan pictures and documents
shortly and would like to include as many of these that I can locate.
