John OATEN, farmer, in the parish of Endellion, was summoned for causing a horse to be cruelly worked in the parish of St. Teath, on the 9th inst. It appeared from the evidence of P.C. James BENCY?, that he saw the horse at work with two others drawing sand?; he noticed that it worked uneasy, and directed the carter to stop; he then examined the shoulders, and on lifting up the collar, saw a raw place on each shoulder, and the blood was running down the horse. Defendant was fined 2s. 6., with 12s. 9d. costs.
