ST. LEVAN.

A very pleasant and well contested game of football was played between Treen and Botallack, at Treen on Saturday in fine weather. The teams were well matched, each trying very hard for supremacy. In the first half Treen scored a penalty goal, which was put in very prettily by W. HOCKING, and in the second half, H. CHAPPLE got in another goal. When Mr. C. T. MATTHEWS, who acted as referee, blew the whistle, the game stood: Treen 2 goals; Botallack, Nil.

This week we have to chronicle the death of Miss S. BRAIN, of St. Levan, aunt of Mr. OATEN, late of the Eastern Telegraph company, Porthcurno, which took place last week. The funeral took place on Saturday at the Parish church yard the Rev. Trimer BENNETT officiating. Many friends of the deceased attended to pay a last tribute of respect, including Messrs. ASH and MacGILL of the Eastern Telegraph Company, Misses MacGILL, Mrs. T. ROWE and others. The breast plate bore the following inscription: “Sarah BRAIN aged 92 years, 1904.” Mr Humphry HUMPHRYS, St. Levan, was the undertaker. The carriages were supplied by Messrs. T. WARREN, of Penzance, and G. WILLIAMS, Rosekestal.
