WASHAWAY PETTY SESSIONS. - On Monday, before Capt. POTTER (chairman), Capt. F. HEXT, Capt. POMEROY, and Messrs. John HITCHENS and W. C. BRADDON, William HAMBLY, of Washaway, was charged by P.C. BADCOCK with being at such a distance from his two horses and cart as not to have proper control over them. He pleaded guilty, and was fined 1s. and the costs. John MENHENICK and Thomas WARNE, both of Amble, in the parish of St. Kew, were fined 6d. each, for allowing their pigs to stray on the highway. Henry PENWARDEN, of the same parish, was charged by P.C. TRURAN with riding without reins. The defendant did not appear, and the Bench, thinking it a bad case, fined him 40s., to include costs. John OATEN, of the parish of Endellion, was charged by P.C. VERCOE, of St. Mabyn, with being drunk and disorderly at Three Ashes, in the parish of St. Tudy. The Bench fined him 10s. and the costs. Henry BUTTON, for a similar offence, pleaded guilty, and was fined 5s. and costs. Thomas SLEEMAN was fined 1s. for allowing his two cows to stray. Nicholas COWLING was charged by P.C. HAM with being drunk at the village of Blisland, and was fined 30s. and the costs, it not being the first offence. Rebecca BEWS, for allowing her pigs to stray, was fined 1s. and costs. William PENNO, for allowing his horse to stray was fined 2s. 6d. and costs. James BURNS was fined 10s. and costs for hawking without a certificate. He did not appear, and a warrant was granted to commit him for 14 days' hard labour. The license of the public-house at St. Mabyn was transferred from Henry MANNING (decreased), to his widow, Jane MANNING.
