HALBERTON.
There is an epidemic of measles among the children of the village, but it is of a very mild form.
The fine weather has enabled people to finish their gardens. The work has mostly been done by women and children.
Mrs. ROOKLEY, of Crosslands, has been notified that her son, Pte John ROOKLEY, of the Royal West Kent Regiment, has died of wounds. Much sympathy is felt for Mrs. ROOKLEY, who only recently lost her husband.
