CREWKERNE.

Mr. Thomas MALE, of Mount Pleasant, Crewkerne, who had been employed by the Crewkerne firm of solicitors, formerly Mr. C. F. SAUNDERS, and latterly Messrs. Saunders and Proctor, over 40 years, died on Friday morning at the age of 59. He had been the managing clerk for a great many years. He was the first secretary of the Crewkerne Working Men's Conservative Club, Ltd., and in his early life was a well-known sportsman. The funeral took place on Tuesday at Crewkerne Cemetery, Preb. G. R. G. NORRIS (Vicar) officiating. Family mourners were Mrs. MALE (widow), Mr. Hugh MALE (son), Mr. Sidney MALE (brother), Mr. and Mrs. S. F. GOSNEY (brother-in-law and sister), and Miss Elsie HOLMAN (sister-in-law). The various firms of solicitors in Crewkerne were represented as follows:- Mr. F. PROCTOR, Mr. T. HUTCHINGS, and Mr. J. HOARE (Messrs Saunders and Proctor), Mr. Fred STOODLEY, Mr. H. H. STAGG and Mr. C. PIKE (Messrs. Sparks and Blake), and Mr. J. SIBLEY (Messrs. Geare and Thompson), Brethren of the Parrett and Axe Lodges of Freemasons also attended. There were about 40 floral tributes.
