HALBERTON

We regret to record the death of Mrs. Maria ASHMAN, who died on Thursday of last week at Tiverton. The deceased was buried at Halberton – where she was for many years a respected parishioner – on Monday. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. J. SCORCE (son and daughter-in-law, Ash Thomas)) Mrs. BIDGOOD and Miss B. ROOKLEY (sisters, Crosslands), Mrs. STONEMAN (step-daughter, Tiverton), Miss F. WOODBERRY (Tiverton), Mr. W. SCORCE and Mr. J. SCORCE (grandsons, Ash Thomas), Mr. and Mrs. W. J. RIDLER (son-in-law and step-daughter, Sampford Peverell). Deceased was borne to the grave by her four nephews – Messrs. B. BIDGOOD, A. BIDGOOD, E. BIDGOOD, J. BIDGOOD. A number of wreaths were sent.
