CULLOMPTON.

More railway accommodation is very much craved at Cullompton. The inhabitants think themselves neglected by the Bristol and Exeter Directors, in this particular, and connot <sic> conceive why trains, which call at Tiverton Junction and Hele, should not stop at the more important station of Cullompton during the summer months. The last train by which persons can come to Exeter from this town is the 5.15 p.m., and the inhabitants would feel it a great advantage if similar facilities were afforded by later trains.

PETTY SESSIONS, TOWN HALL, May 3. - Before E. S. DREWE, Esq. (chairman), W. C. GRANT, H. T. TUCKER, Esqrs., and Rev. J. P. SYDENHAM. - A QUARRELSOME WOMAN. - Elizabeth BROOM, of Kentisbeare, was summoned by Mary Ann ROOKLEY, of the same place, for assaulting her on the 23rd of April, by knocking her on the head with a pint cup. The defendant called John WESTCOTT, who deposed that complainant offered the first insult by throwing beer in the defendant's face; WESTCOTT could not tell who was the first to call the other names. The defendant called Henry GOTH, a laborer, who said that ROOKLEY was the first to commit the assault, by throwing beer at Mrs. BROOM; Mrs. BROOM retaliated by knocking Mrs. ROOKLEY on the head with the pint cup, cutting her severely. There was a cross summons, Mrs. BROWN charging Mrs. ROOKLEY with breaking glass. They were ordered each to pay their own expenses, and were bound over to keep the peace towards each other for the term of six months. - On Thursday, the 29th April, before the Rev. J. P. SYDENHAM, Jane YEO and Martha DAWE were committed to take their trial for stealing from a lodging-house in Cullompton, two capes, one pair of boots, neckerchief, eggs, &c., in value about £1. P.C. BUTT apprehended them near Wellington.
