SAINTHILL.

At the Baptist Church, Sainthill, a sale of work and jumble sale took place on Friday, the proceeds being in aid of the Renovation Fund. The stallholders were: General, Mesdames H. J. COTTRELL, STEVENS, BAKER and SNELL, Miss THOMAS; Pound and Provisions, Misses REED, MENDHAM and STEVENS; Teas and Refreshments, Mrs. ROOKLEY, Mrs. LONG and Miss BAKER.

Sunday School anniversary services were held at the Baptist Chapel, Sainthill, on Sunday. There were large congregations. Rev. S. J. FORD (Hemyock) preached. The scholars sang a special hymn. Miss BAKER, who trained the boys and girls, presided at the organ. The offertories were in aid of the Sunday School funds.

An interesting fact in connection with the centenary of the Baptist Church as yet unrecorded, is that 120 years ago Charles BAKER, a great grandfather of the present Mr. GAD and Mr. Ebe BAKER, was conducting services in some cottages at Sainthill Farm, and his son Charles started the Sunday School.
