ACCIDENTAL DEATH. - An inquest was held yesterday afternoon, by the coroner, Mr H. S. WASBROUGH, at the Royal Infirmary, on the body of Emma Jane OATEN, aged seven years, the daughter of Henry OATEN, a labourer, living at 4, New Buildings, Gas Lane, St. Philip's. On Tuesday evening last the deceased was trying to reach a picture which was fixed to the wall immediately above the fire-place, when by some means her clothing caught fire. The flames were quickly extinguished, and the sufferer was conveyed to the Infirmary, where she died on Wednesday. A verdict of “Accidental death” was returned.
