FORMER TAXI-DRIVER'S EMBEZZLEMENT
Fares Not Accounted for to Employer
“I have been pushed for money recently” was the explanation Thomas Edward MILTON (29), of Royal Park, Clifton, gave at Bristol Police Court, yesterday, when he admitted three charges of embezzlement.
Mr. F. E. METCALFE, prosecuting, said MILTON was formerly employed as a taxi-driver by Mr Ernest Albert OATEN, garage proprietor, of Royal York Crescent, Clifton.
It was alleged that the three sums involved, 7s 2d, 11s 6d and 10s, had been paid to MILTON between different dates as fares and he had not accounted for them to his employer.
MILTON was fined £1 on each charge and ordered to pay 15s costs.
