A HERNHILL WEDDING
SURGEON-LIEUTENANT ATKINS, R.N., AND MISS JOAN MURCH
An interesting wedding was solemnised at Hernhill Church on Wednesday, the bridegroom being Surgeon-Lieutenant John Douglas ATKINS, R.N., of H.M.S. Wildfire, son of Mrs. A. ATKINS, of Tolland Bay, Isle of Wight, and the bride Miss Joan Elisabeth MURCH, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. MURCH, of Ellenden Farm, Whitstable.
The officiating clergyman was the Rev. W. HENDERSON.
The bride was given away by her father and the best man was Mr. C. P. MURCH.
It was a hurriedly arranged and quiet wedding as the bridegroom is expecting to be going to sea very soon and only immediate relatives and friends were present.
