FUNERAL OF MR. H. HAWKINS

Amid much sympathy, the funeral took place in Holcombe Rogus Churchyard on Monday of Mr. Herbert HAWKINS, of Homepitt, Holcombe Rogus, the news of whose death in Taunton Hospital on the previous Thursday after a short illness was received with sincere regret. Mr. HAWKINS, who was 46, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George HAWKINS, his father having been employed by Mr. J. H. MERSON at Kytton Farm for over 52 years. After going to school, the deceased went to work at Kytton and was there until 1916, when he joined the R.G.A., and saw service in France. Ten years ago, Mr. HAWKINS went back to Kytton, where Mr. J. E. GABRIEL has established a model dairy, and he was appointed as foreman. Some months ago Mr. HAWKINS had an illness, from which he apparently recovered, and an attack of pneumonia about eight days previous was the cause of his death. He leaves a widow and daughter. The latter will be six years old next September. Much sympathy is felt for them.
