EASTER WEDDINGS AT TAUNTON
WEEK-END CEREMONIES AT PARISH CHURCHES
FOURTEEN BRIDES
<section not transcribed>
MR. A. OATEN – MISS G. M. VILE
Mr. Arthur OATEN, third son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph OATEN, of 87, East Reach, Taunton, was married at Holy Trinity Church, Taunton, on Monday, to Miss Gladys May VILE, youngest daughter of the late Mr. F. J. VILE, and of Mrs. VILE, of Southgate, Wellington-road.
The service was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. F. C. FITCH and the duties of “best man” were taken by Mr. Joseph OATEN, the bridegroom's father.
The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Francis VILE. She wore a dress of pale blue satin, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of pink tulips and scarlet carnations. She was attended by two cousins, the Misses Ivy and Phyllis MALE, who wore pale pink dresses and floral wreaths and carried scarlet carnations. They were presented with silver neck-laces by the bridegroom.
About thirty guests attended a reception at the bridegroom's home. Among the gifts was a clock to the bridegroom from the West Somerset Dairy Company.
