LATE MR. THOMAS HAWKINS

FUNERAL TRIBUTES.

The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, of Mr. Thomas HAWKINS (62), of 6, Alma-street, who died on Monday from pneumonia, three weeks after he was involved in an accident while pedal-cycling in East-street.

An inquest was held, and a report in given on another page.

Mr. HAWKINS, who was born in Taunton, had been a yeast agent in the town for 33 years. He was formerly a member of the Taunton Journeyman Bakers' Association, and for many years he belonged to the Holy Trinity Men's Club, being a keen member of the Trinity Reds Whist team, which competes in the Taunton and District Whist League.

Mr. HAWKINS leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. H. VINCENT, who, with her husband, is in business in Eastbourne-road, Taunton.

The funeral service took place at St. James' Church, and the burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery. The Vicar of St. James – the Rev. Walter GREEN, officiated.

BRISTOW, Churchinford, Mrs. D. SMITH, Bristol, Mr. and Mrs. W. GRIFFITHS, Hemyock, Messrs. S. and W. CROSS, Hemyock, Miss SHEPHERD, Taunton, and Mr. J. BRISTOW, Uffculme (nephews and nieces).

Among those present were Messrs. W. J. TOLMAN (hon. secretary of Taunton and District Master Bakers' Association), R. ROCKETT (representing the Taunton Journeyman Bakers' Association), H. J. CHALK and W. J. WARE (secretary and treasurer of the Holy Trinity Men's Club), F. KNIGHT and J. FRENCH (representing the Trinity Reds Whist team), G. PARSONS (Trinity Blacks Whist team), G. PARSONS (Trinity Blacks Whist team), H. L. RANDALL (the Commercial Union Assurance Co., Ltd.), E. BALLINGER (Messrs. Vink & Sanderson, Ltd., Bristol), B. BROOM, S. KNIGHT, B. HURFORD, J. PAULL and Mrs. AVERY.

The many wreaths included tributes from the Holy Trinity Men's Club the Journeyman Bakers' Association, “friends in the yeast trade in Taunton,” and from the directors and staff of Messrs. Vink & Sanderson, Bristol.

Messrs. E. E. WHITE & Son, Ltd., East Reach, carried out the funeral arrangements.
