HAMBRIDGE

WHIT-MONDAY WEDDING

Hambridge Parish Church was filled on Monday for the wedding of Mr. Roy WOODLAND, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert WOODLAND, of Hambridge Farm, and Miss Elsie Freda EDMUNDS, youngest daughter of Mrs. EDMUNDS and the late Mr. W. EDMUNDS, of Hambridge. The bridegroom was formerly captain of Hambridge Football Club. Mr. Fred ALFORD friend of the bridegroom was “best man.” The Rev. H. R. WILLIMOTT (vicar) officiated at the choral service, and Miss M. PORTER was at the organ.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Harold EDMUNDS (Barrington), wore a gown of white flowered broche satin, with veil and wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white carnations and orange blossom. She was attended by Misses Joan CHAMBERLAIN (neice), Dulcie EDMUNDS (niece), and Mollie WOODLAND (sister of the bridegroom), who wore ankle-length dresses of mauve crepe-de-chine, with head-dresses of silver leaves. Their bouquets were of pink carnations, and they wore silver bangles, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Fred ALFORD (cousin of the bridegroom) was “best man.”

The reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, and later Mr. and Mrs. WOODLAND left for their honeymoon at Thames Ditton.
